So it was about this time last year when the underground garage below my apartment, where I store my Z, flooded and my car took in a sizeable amount of water. (The water line was right in the middle of the headlights, just to paint the picture for you) So I had to gut the interior to get all of the water/moisture out. I'm new to the site and I'll see if I can post pics. I was devastated.... Over the winter months here in Chicago, I've always stored it in a garage wherever I lived. So to go along with that, I’ve pulled the insurance off of it during those months (thinking it was safe, smh). So here I am now, finally have the funds to get this going. She's got 125k miles on the original engine. I'm looking to revamp this motor, without having to completely overhaul. Obviously an oil change, spark plugs and wires (looking for suggestions on type), and draining all the fluids will be needed. I was also planning on replacing all of the belts and hoses too (it already needed that). I’m looking to add a few more mods to get to about 450 hp. I have an ecu (that will probably need to be flashed to fit my exact mods) and want to add a dual intake and upgrade to 555cc injectors. But before I do the go fast mods, I want to get her purring again. Does anyone have any advice on any electrical components or otherwise that might need to be tested before trying to fire her up? (Seeing as though some components were submerged in water for somewhere between 12-24 hours) I'm pretty mechanically inclined, but as far as electrical work goes, that's where I ask for help. I love these cars and I’d imagine people on this site feel the same way. Of all the cars I’ve owned, it’s not the easiest one to maintain but for sure the most fun car! Let me know what advice you Z guys can offer and also what’s going on in the Chicago area (Z events or tuning shops or cruise nights etc…)
